Tonight, We Fly

Updates have been a little slow lately.  Mostly because Ben has decided it's a great idea to wake up every hour during the night and then start his day off wide awake at 4:30 (it's always good to blame the baby, right?).  I am not particularly loving being up all night but, since his older brother did the same thing around this age, it was somewhat expected. Why don't children love to sleep? Sleep is the best.  Everyone knows this.  Also good? Eating.  Nate and Ben, write this down.

The good news* is we get to fly tonight with the boys.  We are going to Germany for a week and then the boys and I will head to America for a visit (Henry will meet us there in a bit).

Trapped in an airplane for 11 hours.  Now with not one but two mobile monkey children.  At least last time, Ben was too small to be that much of a terrorist.  Nowadays, all Ben wants to do is wriggle and crawl and get down on the floor.  And I have a feeling Nate will be done with sitting in one spot about 45 min in.  But maybe everyone will do better than I fear and I guess the upside is at least it's not the 18 hour flight? Is it hot in here? Panic setting in.

*Not good news

Oh and by the way, lest someone gets the wrong idea and we are met at the airport in Boston by social services, the picture above just looks bad. Nate would claim he was actually showing affection.  And Ben loved it.  No loss of consciousness occurred.

See? Here is Ben with Patricia today. He is just fine. He can tell his therapist all about it later on in life.

Talking with Nate #4

Nate: Are you ready to get a party time, Mommy?

While rediscovering his peeper in the bathtub and whilst possibly peeing...
Nate: This is a hose?

After crawling towards me in his play tunnel...
Nate: Nice to see you, Mommy!

After putting his arms around Ben...
Nate: I just holding my brother.

Nate's First School Project

Nate Clark, Term 1, 2014

This appears to be either a volcano erupting on some dinosaurs or a dinosaur massacre.  Either way, we love it.

Birthday Party

Last weekend, Nate was invited to a birthday party.  I think he was a little overwhelmed at first.  I mean, is this not the saddest face in a party hat you have ever seen? But even though he started off a little tentative and scared, a half hour later and he was running around like a boss.  I think the massive amounts of sugar helped sell him on the idea.

The hat says party, the face asks for the nearest exit.
