Nate's First Red Sox Game

Henry's dream of taking Nate to his first Red Sox game became a reality the other night.  I admit, I initially had reservations because the game started at the same time as Nate's bedtime but I was proven wrong in a big way because Nate had the best time and the night went perfectly (minus needing an unfortunate diaper change in the 5th inning).  Thanks to his uncle and cousin, they sat in some pretty great seats and Nate was able to bang on his very own table, jump around as much as he wanted, and eat peanuts off the floor (the last part: not mommy- approved).

Henry was giddy excitement. Nate thought it was pretty cool too.

Drink for Daddy. Drink for Nate.

Talking with Nate #6

Me (trying to remember the words to one of the songs Nate likes on Thomas): The tree...the la...I can't remember how it goes!
Nate: Your song is broken

After being caught throwing blueberries from the table...
Me: Nate, are you supposed to be throwing your blueberries?
Nate: Mother Nature says "no no no"!

Me: Nate, are you a toddler or a baby?
Nate: I a toddler...No, I a boy!

After getting him nudey for his bath...
Nate: I need to show Daddy Nudey Nate!

Highlight of Nate's Week/Life

Nate went on a train ride through the mall the other day with his aunt and cousin and it literally made his life.  Nate's journey took him through what has to be the saddest mall in Massachusetts, where every store looks like it can fold up shop in under 9 minutes and you can buy club wear for $8.  It was an epic tour.

Floppy Top First Haircut

Floppy Mop Top got a little less floppy today as we took him to get his first haircut.  Even though Ben's hair was becoming a sheep-dog-baby-mullet, I was still hesitant to cut it at all.  But alas, when Ben literally could not see out past his waterfall of hair, I was out voted and off we went to the kid's haircut place.

Pre-haircut.  Deciding on the style he wants.

Sat in the chair like a pro.

Things are much improved.  Very pleased with himself.

Talking with Nate #5

While out to dinner, we see Nate staring at another table, seemingly talking gibberish to himself...
Me: Nate, what are you doing?
He points to a guy at another table, who is wearing a green shirt...
Nate: I talkin' to Green Shirt!

While listening to a group of Indian tourists talking to one another in Hindi...
Nate: They talking baby talk!

While playing with his toy Thomas the Train...
Nate: I sorry, Thomas. I sorry you toppled off the bridge.

While playing down the hall and realizing no one is right next to him...
Nate: Guys! I miss you! I missing you!

While putting my headphones around his neck, pretending it's a stethoscope...
Nate: I go to the doctor all day. I go to the doctor to fix my hair.

Talking Ben

I think he is saying, "And henceforth, you shall sleep no more! The night is mine. I laugh in the face of your exhaustion and find it comical to call you to my crib during the wee hours of the morning.  Also, these baby puffs are quite good.  I find them delicious."

In America!

The above face is done with traveling. So done.

So we made it to America. I said it 10 days ago and I'll say it again today: jet lag + kids is not an ideal combination.  I realized things were going to be really tricky when, on our first night back, both boys woke up at 2 am completely awake for the day.  That was a long day.  Also, flying with kids? Still not fun.  As of this second, I am going to forget that we have to repeat the journey in the not too distant future.

On the positive side, everyone is loving our visit back home, minus both guys getting sick in the beginning of our trip (thank you airplane germs).   Ben is standing now.  Nate is loving hanging out with his cousins.  I am readjusting to driving on the right side of the road and really looking forward to catching up with everyone here. America is awesome.
